Kedarnath Temple

Kedarnath temple is the abode of bhagwan Shiva and one of the 12 jyotirlingas where bhagwan shiv is worshiped in the form of linga. Kedarnath temple is situated in the Chamoli district in the Gharwal region of Uttarakhand . Kedarnath temple is one of the Chota char Dham other three are Badrinath , Gangotri, Yamnotri .

To reach Kedarnath first you should reach Gateway of all Chota Char dhamHaridwar or Rishikesh. From Rishikesh you can get bus directly to Sonprayag (Last direct bus is at 8 AM) else you need to get bus towards Rudraprayag, Rudraprayag is the point from where routes get separated for Badrinath and Kedarnath. From here (Rudraprayag) if you are early take a bus towards Sonprayag if not available to (Guptakashi). If busses are not available you can opt for gypsies there are plenty of shared gypsies are available. Guptkashi is small town en route to Sonprayag. From Guptkashi you can see the Chaukhamba (snow capped mountain). From Guptkashi you can get vehicles for Sonprayag.

From Sonprayag to Gaurikund small local vehicles are available to Gaurikund.

From Gaurikund Walkway starts to Kedarnath.

Delhi to Rishikesh: 240 km

Rishikesh to Rudraprayag: 141 km

Rudraprayag to Sonprayag: 73 km

Sonprayag to Gaurikund: 4.5 km

Gaurikund to Kedarnath: 16–19 km
